GRUNTS EPISODE 1

Grunts

Next Episode>

So here is the very first episode of Grunts. The evolution of the strip has been told elsewhere (see my interview for LAMLRadio) but I was very pleased when the first episode was finished as I felt I'd finally got somewhere.

Fans of the series right from the start may recall that the initial strip didn't look quite like this, it took me a few strips to get to this format - the logo appeared originally on the left and the panels were different sizes. In the first panel I originally had the Sarge's hand appearing just off to the right of the frame but this was lost during cropping when I revamped it to match the final layout that I settled with.

You'll also see that my kitchen worktop can be seen in the lower part of some panels - something I would be sure to correct in later episodes.
