Tabletown

BRICKTIONARY

By permission of James Stacey, fellow AFOL, and his Minifig website, I present a glossary of terms as used by AFOLs in the UK and around the world. This is LEGO "slang" that you might hear in typical conversations. Thanks James for allowing me to put a copy here and for much of the original text.

I aim to keep this updated, if a phrase or word is missing, please contact me or post a suggestion in the Tabletown Forums.

B

Bandwagon
A passing LEGO fad to jump on.

Bignette
Large version of a Vignette.

Blackstone
Evil collective intent on ruling LEGOLAND Parks.

Blacktron
Evil collective intent on ruling the galaxy.

Blacktron
Blacktron Logo

Blaersk
The slightly different, new shade of Maersk blue.

Bley
Derogatory name for the new grey colours introduced by LEGO in 2004, much to the annoyance of Fans. Comes in Light and Dark varieties. It is always wise to keep your Bley supplies in a separate container to your normal grey bricks for fear of making your MOCs look like crap if you accidentally mix them.

Bloun
Reddish brown or new brown (like a clown, with a frown, about to drown...etc). It has to be spelled with a 'u' though, otherwise it becomes blown, which is already a word. Similar in context to Bley. Rarely used as a term these days, see instead Bred.

BOLOCS
Built Of Lots Of Colours.. How young children build.
"That kid's house is BOLOCS"

Bred
Reddish brown or new brown - i.e. brownish-red. See also Bloun.

Brick
Slang term for LEGO, generally. Singular term is often used to describe lots of bricks.

BURP
Big Ugly Rock Piece - either of the mountain pieces.

BURP
BURP (excuse me)

Buying the cakes
Automatic forfeit for the modelmaking team at LEGOLAND Windsor, when they perform an illegal move.
"Look…that Bagley’s just glued a macaroni on the side of that Rory wall. Guess he’d better buy the cakes."
