I apologise for the lack of entries over the last three weeks or so, but a project at work has occupied much of my time, and I’ve also been trying to distract myself from the LEGO a bit by playing lots and lots of Star Trek Online.
However I feel compelled to copy the text of an e-mail I have just sent to Parcel Force, having just received an invoice from them in the sum of £16.60 for…the delivery of a parcel!

I am in receipt of your “Invoice” regarding the attached.
Before I am able to consider the payment of your outrageous charges, I need to know from whom this parcel was sent as you rather unhelpfully have given me no information whatsoever.
You clearly think I am stupid, wanting to charge me £16.60 for something without some kind of information!
I am not expecting any parcel from the USA, much less New Jersey where I have no contacts whatsoever, and unless you are able to provide this information, as far as I am concerned you can send the item back.
Incidentally – given that your entire business concerns the delivery of parcels, how on Earth can you justify a “Clearance Fee” of £8.00? Perhaps the actual delivery of an item is a new and exciting event for you – presumably you just prefer to issue invoices all day long. To be honest, I am sick to the back teeth of corporations such as yours constantly attempting to extort money from hard-working ordinary citizens such as myself, especially given the particularly poor performance of your organisation every time I want you to do something for me.
I await either your standard robotic response or typically unsympathetic reply with bated breath.

Is it just me, or are the corporations JUST out to screw everyone else, because I’ll be honest, I’ve just about had enough. It’s lucky we cancelled the milk or my particularly pathetic Milkman would be charging a clearance fee on top of what he already charges for delivering the stuff. And when I say he was a pathetic Milkman, he really was – deliveries after I’ve gone to work in the summer are not conducive to maintaining a fresh supply of milk in my house unless I really wanted cheese all along.
