We went to Windsor today, just, well, just because, and I found the Daniel store. I don’t get out much (one of the conditions of the Supervillain Parole Scheme) and I hadn’t heard of it before – very impressive toy selection and masses of LEGO.
I think you could say that I’ve well and truly fallen off the wagon today in terms of buying sets. I haven’t bought any new sets for a few months now following a minor fiscal crisis, and I’ve been buying bulk brick instead, but today I picked up about 8 new sets.
Anyway, I suspect everyone already knows about this shop, but I didn’t and it’s great.
I think I’ll go there again – the toy area is huge, for a department store I mean. Actually, it would be pretty huge for a regular toyshop, loads of goodies.
Off in the distance I could see the regular Star Wars aisle – I didn’t dare wander too far in case I fell off that wagon as well. And I definitely didn’t dare look for Doctor Who stuff – I’m still lusting after a plush Adipose.
There was a K’Nex section, a MegaB**locks area and a Meccano aisle as well – with some cool Meccano models of London landmarks.
Mrs S did pick up a “Make your own Morph” type thing – as in the Tony Hart/Aardman character. Comes with a DVD of Morph episodes as well.
Too much for me to take in, especially as I was trying hard not to spend another £50 on the Assault Shuttle set.
BTW, their website doesn’t list all that they have in stock – they had all of the new Clone Wars stuff, all the City construction stuff, the latest IJ sets, the latest Creator sets, and perhaps most surprisingly for Windsor (where I might expect hiked up prices) the prices were standard compared to Argos etc.
