Friday morning crises
Posted by Doctor Sinister on March 7th, 2008 filed in Anger, Armchair General, Children, LifeIt’s only 08:48 as I commence typing this and already I have had to deal with a major issue at the ACG forums and calm down my daughter Alice who I’ve just dropped off at school wearing a Tinkerbell outfit.
On the basis that it is (or was) Book Day or something, all the children at school have gone dressed as a charater from Peter Pan. We decided to go to a little extra effort and actually have a costume made for Alice, but on the basis that all the other children there are wearing off the peg outfits, they decided to laugh at her.
This makes me particularly angry as it’s exactly the same sort of crap that I had to put up with at school. And people wonder why I get so annoyed about everything. I’ve just had to reassure Alice that she looks lovely, and I made a point of saying so in front of the other children, as well as observing that we have gone the extra mile by making something for Alice instead of just buying an outfit - I mean, anyone can do that, it takes no skill or thought whatsoever.
The more I sit here and think about it the angrier I get, children can be such little gits at times.
